Well not yet - but we are definitly closing in. Greetings to all our fellow nomads and food enthusiasts! After a brief 1.5 years period being offline and a series of behind-the-scenes challenges, we are excited to share the progress we've made.

Reviving the Feast: Our Website's back online ๐Ÿš€ !

As you may have noticed, our website is back with the basics. The functionality has been stripped down to the essentials: blogs, a contact page, and an about page. We understand that simplicity is key at this stage, and we appreciate your patience as we work on ironing out the bugs.

Unlike our previous WordPress version, which had its fair share of limitations, the current iteration is entirely self-hosted. This transition was prompted by the challenges encountered after updating WordPress, where connectivity issues with the database arose. In response, Adrian decided to code the blog by himself and independently bring the website online. This approach not only addressed the database connection problem but also provides greater ease in updating the website moving forward.

Our Odyssey to Crafting a Self - Hosted Culinary Haven

Adrian, hesitated when it came to launching the self-hosted website๐Ÿ”„ . Security emerged as a major concern, given the exposure to the worldwide web, making the site susceptible to potential bot attacks, database breaches, or hijacking attempts. Another worry centered around navigating future changes and updates for both the website and database. The looming fear of encountering technical challenges and the possibility of data losses demanded precise decision-making.

Crickets to Community ๐Ÿฆ—: The Unveiling of User Registration!

He had some initial doubts, but as our tech-savvy coder ๐Ÿง‘‍๐Ÿ’ป he courageously tackled the challenge. Moving to a self-hosted & self-developped website wasn't thoroughly planned. Instead, Adrian foresaw issues like ensuring privacy compliance ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ (GDPR), adding extra security from bot attacks by implementing reCaptcha ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿšง. At one point he just had to make the step and bring the website online. After tossing the website into the online world – totally out of the blue – it got the grand attention of... drumroll, please... absolutely zero users! Google didn't even bother to give it a nod. All that hesitation and fear? Seems like the digital crickets are having a field day. Apparently, we've created the world's best-kept online secret. Shh... don't tell Google, it's enjoying its solitude!

Essentially, the onboarding wizard is making it possible to get your offering public to the world wide crowd of food nomads.
